My Peace I Give to You

"...his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." - Psalm 30:5

"My soul finds rest in God alone: My salvation comes from Him. the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning." - Lamentations 3:22-23

"He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills." Psalms 147:8

"Listen to this, Job; stop and consider God's wonders. - Job 37:14

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." - Matthew 6:28-29

"The fruit of the spirit is love, joy and peace." - Galatians 5:22

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." - John 14:27

"But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified. - Galatians 5:22-24 (The Message)

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end. - I Corinthians 14:3-8 (The Message)
