It Wasn't the Best of Days...It Wasn't the Worst of Days

First off, I have to say that today was fun, fun, fun. I took my daughter and 2 granddaughters with me yard saleing. Since they live in Brazil, it's not often that we get to spend 4 hours on a Saturday morning together so that made today even more special.

We were awakened to the sound of rain...well not just rain but monsoon rains this morning. I knew that it would not be a great yard sale day but we went anyway. But first off, we had to make a breakfast/coffee stop at Dunkin' Donuts for our morning fix. Neither do we get to do that often...fun!

We then made the rounds to several yard sales that were courageous enough to brave the weather. In Kate's (5 year old gd) estimation, it was a great day! Her birthday is coming up at the end of September. Just about forever (in her eyes) she has wanted a drum set. We certainly didn't think about looking for one and if her mom had not been with me, I wouldn't even have noticed this 3 piece child's drumset that was just what Kate needed. Now, this Mema, really got the tuck-n-run find of the day with this one. Kate's drumset retails on amazon.com for almost $200.00 and we got it in almost new condition for $25. Happy Birthday! Kate!!! Love those bargains.

With the makeover of Maggie's old room, I needed some twin bed sheets to fit the daybed and trundle. Found those this morning for $1 per sheet and .50 for the pillowcases and they are in really good (almost new) condition. I really don't know why someone wouldn't price them at $2.50 for the set instead of pricing them separately but that's how they were so bought them.

To satisfy my reading addiction, I went through several boxes of books and found 3 that I didn't have and picked them for $1 each. That was probably too much but I'm happy so that's all that matters.

I love yard sale-ing on Saturday morning and especially today with the family with me. Great WET Saturday morning.
